Insight into the Behavior of a Caisson Anchor under Cyclic Loading in Calcareous Silt

This paper provides insight into the behavior of a stiffened caisson anchor under inclined cyclic loading in calcareous silt. A series tests was conducted beam centrifuge. monotonic test first performed, quantifying pure capacity, and then four varying mean load, amplitude, number cycles. Cyclic soil characterization T-bar were linked. Undrained led to generate excess pore pressure, resulting degradation strength stiffness. For partially drained tests, pressure generated during initial undrained experienced partial dissipation. Healing due consolidation outweighed damage generation. Postcyclic capacity found be up 35% higher compared with unless failed loading. Measured rotation indicated evolution failure mechanism. Caisson presented as envelope, effect accentuated. The contribution soil–chain interaction on minimal. No trenching apparent surface, no gap formed around considered centrifuge testing conditions.
